Better Towny

Better Towny is a cross-platform Survival server that rebuilds the classic Towny formula around a custom /level progression system — a grind-driven layer that sits on top of mcMMO, jobs, dungeons, and a gem-based gear economy. The server launched on June 1st, meaning the player base is still early in its lifecycle and new arrivals aren't starting months behind established towns.

🏘️ Towny & Land Claim

The core of the server is its Towny system. Players can found or join towns, claim land collectively, and build communities protected from grief. Individual land claims are also available for solo players who want a private plot without committing to a town.

⚔️ PVP & PVE

Better Towny blends both combat styles. Open-world PVP exists alongside structured PVE content in the form of dungeons and custom bosses. Dungeons drop gems and shards — the currencies used to unlock OP gear — giving PVE grinders a direct path to endgame equipment.

📈 Progression Systems

The server stacks multiple progression layers:

• Custom Levels (/level) — hundreds of unlockable levels, each granting perks and rewards
• mcMMO — classic skill-leveling for mining, combat, excavation, and more
• Jobs — pick professions, complete tasks, and earn in-game money
• Daily Quests — repeatable objectives that hand out consistent rewards
• Pyro Fishing — a fishing mini-system with EPIC rod upgrades

💎 Economy & Gear

Gems and shards function as the premium progression currency. Rather than selling power, the server funnels these through gameplay — dungeon clears, events, and quest completion. OP gear is unlockable through this loop, and the server explicitly advertises a NO PAY TO WIN policy with FREE ranks and FREE OP gear available.
