FAQ
Common questions about MC Monitoring, server rankings, and how everything works.
How are Minecraft servers ranked? +
Servers are ranked by live player count by default. You can also sort by newest servers, total votes, or IP copy count. Rankings update in real time as player counts change across monitored servers.
How often is server status updated? +
Server status (online/offline, player count, ping) is updated every few minutes through our monitoring sources. Each server card shows when it was last checked. Player history charts aggregate data over 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.
Do I need an account to use MC Monitoring? +
No — you can browse servers, copy IPs, and view live player counts without creating an account. Registering lets you vote for servers, like/dislike tags, and track your vote history.
How do I vote for a server? +
Click the vote button on any server card or detail page. Each user can vote once per server per day. Votes count toward the server's monthly ranking and are reset daily.
What are tag likes and dislikes? +
Each server has category tags (Survival, PvP, Skyblock, etc.). Logged-in users can like or dislike specific tags on a server to help fellow players judge how well a tag fits that server. Tag ratings appear as like/dislike counts under each tag.
How do IP copies work? +
Click the IP address or copy button on any server to copy its connection address to your clipboard. Copy counts help measure a server's popularity — the more players copy an IP, the higher it ranks in the Copies sort.
Can I add my server to MC Monitoring? +
Server listings are sourced from multiple public Minecraft server monitoring APIs. New servers are automatically discovered and added. If your server isn't listed, it may appear once our monitoring sources detect it.
Is my data private? +
Yes. We use an offline IP geolocation database (MaxMind GeoLite2) for country detection — no IP addresses are sent to third parties. Authentication uses HttpOnly secure cookies. No tracking or analytics services are used beyond our own server-side monitoring.
What Minecraft versions are supported? +
We list servers running all Minecraft versions — from classic 1.8 to the latest releases. Use the Version filter on the homepage to find servers running a specific version or version range.
